How to Enrol at Maharishi School

1. The minimum age for Maharishi School entry is 5 years at 30th April of the year of admission to the Foundation Year. Applications for enrolment for students who are still under 5 years of age after 30th April will be considered on an individual basis but require supporting evidence which must include: an educational assessment prepared by a recognised child psychologist/service, a Transition Statement - Early Childhood Service Information document completed by an Early Childhood Teacher, an interview with the parents and child.

2. Maharishi School has a maximum age for school entry of 13 years old as at the beginning of the school year for Year 6.

3. Principal discretion may be exercised in each instance

The date of application will be used to prioritise admissions along with the date which the holding deposit has been received.

1. Maharishi School will give priority to students who have a sibling(s) already enrolled in the school.

2. Maharishi School may give priority to students whose parent or relative attended the school.

3. Maharishi School may give priority to students whose parent(s) are employed by the school.

4. Maharishi School will accept enquiries from students of all faiths as we are non-denominational.

1. Transcendental Meditation (TM) is a fundamental aspect of the education at Maharishi School. In order to gain admission to Maharishi School, one or preferably both of the student’s parents must learn the practice of Transcendental Meditation.

a. Children must begin the practice of the TM technique (or Children’s TM technique if younger than 10 years old) prior to entry.

b. All students must learn TM when they turn 10 and a fee for this will be charged.

2. Maharishi School requires parents and students to accept and support the ethos of the school.

It is a legal requirement under the Public Health and Wellbeing Act 2008 (Vic) that the parent presents an Immunisation History Statement.

1. Student Reports from a student’s previous school(s).

2. Additional assessment data such as NAPLAN results,

3. Medical reports related to the physical/social/emotional/intellectual development of the child.

4. Maharishi School may interview either parents or the student or both as part of its admissions procedures. Such interviews range from those that are highly structured through to those that are more open-ended and free flowing.

5. Maharishi School may require prospective students to attend a trial day, the purpose of which is to give the student an opportunity to get to know the school but also to allow the school to observe the student and for the school to use those observations as evidence of attitude and/or ability.

6. Maharishi School may give preference to students who have attended the school in the previous year or in previous years or from other Maharishi Schools worldwide.
